Minecraft: Bedrock Edition just got a new hotfix — version 26.62 — rolling out now on Windows, iOS, iPadOS, and Fire OS. This patch targets four specific bugs that popped up after the big 26.60 “Fourth Drop” update on October 27, 2026, including stability issues on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, a block-selection quirk, and a Realms configuration bug. If you’re playing Bedrock, this is a small but meaningful stability patch. Java Edition is not affected — it follows its own release schedule.
Version & Platform Details
- Edición: Bedrock Edition only (also covers Pocket Edition on mobile)
- Hotfix version: 26.62

This is an official hotfix from Mojang Studios, not a third-party mod or community patch. You don’t need any modloader like Forge or Fabric — just update your game from your platform’s store.
What’s Fixed in 26.62
According to the official Mojang changelog, this hotfix addresses four community-reported issues:
- Block selection vs. entity interaction: Fixed an issue where block selection prevented you from interacting with entities inside blocks. This improves precision when aiming at mobs or items partially hidden behind blocks.
- Xbox stability under memory pressure: Improved stability on Xbox when the console is under significant memory load. This should reduce crashes during heavy gameplay (e.g., large worlds, many entities, or resource-heavy scenes).
- Nintendo Switch 2 crash: Fixed a crash that could occur on Nintendo Switch 2 when rendering scenes with a large number of objects — a common issue in dense builds or crowded farms.
- Realms configuration overwrite: Fixed an issue where cached cloud sync settings could sometimes overwrite config values used during a Realms purchase. This ensures your subscription and world settings stay intact when buying or renewing.
Mojang notes the hotfix is rolling out gradually: “A new hotfix is rolling out to address issues found in the latest update. It will become available on each platform as it’s approved, so please allow a little time for it to reach you.”
How to Get the Update
No manual downloads or third-party tools are needed. Simply open your platform’s store:
- Windows: Microsoft Store or the Xbox app
- iOS / iPadOS: App Store
- Fire OS: Amazon Appstore
If the update isn’t showing yet, wait a few hours — platform approvals can take time. You can check your current version in the bottom-right corner of the main menu; it should read 26.62 after updating.
What’s Next
Hotfix 26.62 is a follow-up to the major 26.60 update, which introduced experimental Fourth Drop features (like Ice Caves biome content) and native Nintendo Switch 2 support. Mojang is already testing preview 1.26.70-preview.23 (protocol 2250) released on November 3, 2026, so expect more content in the coming weeks.
