New Rideable Mobs
If you love adding new creatures to your Minecraft world, this update doesn’t disappoint. Here’s what you’ll find roaming (and rampaging!) your worlds:
- Camel Husk: A zombified version of the standard camel, ridden by two zombie enemies. They carry spears and bring chaos to the desert!
- Zombified Nautilus: A new aquatic undead mount, which can be ridden by a single zombie. They’re found around water, armed with the new spear weapon.
Both mobs have non-zombified forms as well. The standard camel gets a shout-out here—not just for being tamable, but for becoming the tallest mob in all of Minecraft. These additions are especially exciting for players who love exploring and want fresh threats (and ride options!) in their world.
Mob Encounter Quick Facts
- Camel Husk: Ridden by two zombie enemies with spears
- Zombified Nautilus: Ridden by one spear-wielding zombie
- Camel (non-zombified): Tallest mob in the game
Introducing the Spear: A New Weapon Type
The star of this update for fighters is the all-new spear. Unlike swords or tridents, the spear brings a fresh set of attack mechanics to Minecraft combat:
- Jab Attack: Quick close-range poke; great for keeping mobs at bay without stepping in too close.
- Charge Attack: Hold to charge and then dash forward—the longer you move before striking, the more damage you deal! Perfect for both PvE (against mobs) and PvP (against other players).
Spears combine the reach of tridents with unique movement-based combos, giving combat a new layer of strategy. Grab one from a defeated Camel Husk or Zombified Nautilus, or craft it (see the recipe in the crafting book in-game for details).
How to Experience Mounts of Mayhem
- Update Your Game: If you haven’t already, install Minecraft 1.21.11. On both Java and Bedrock/Pocket, updates will be offered automatically in your launcher or app store.
- Explore Biomes: Find new mobs in deserts (for Camels and Camel Husks) and watery areas (for Zombified Nautilus).
- Try Out the Spear: Defeat a zombie rider for a chance to try the spear’s unique attacks—or check the crafting interface for instructions.
- Watch Out for New Combos: Double-rider mobs and spear users add a dynamic new danger to your adventures!
Note: This is an official Mojang Studios update. All new mobs and weapons work in both Java and Bedrock/Pocket Edition worlds.
